Wisdom Tree enters Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program

Local business with Murray State University partnership accepted into prestigious business program

Scott Allen, president and CEO of Wisdom Tree Technologies LLC (WTT) in Murray has been selected to participate in the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Cohort/Scholars program.

Allen will participate in the 12-week program through a combination of online and in-person sessions this fall. In-person classes will be held at Babson College in Massachusetts, connecting small business owners from across the country. The selection process is very rigorous with applications submitted from across the United States.

Certified as an SBA 8(a) company, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Native American-owned enterprise, Wisdom Tree Technologies serves the IT and telecommunication industries, national defense, law enforcement, national security, special operations, inter-agency, intelligence communities and veteran health care communities.

The business has grown significantly from a staff of three in 2009 to over 60 currently and is expected to top 100 employees this year. In addition, WTT has been instrumental in providing internships and hiring opportunities for Murray State University students and graduates. This affords them valuable experiential learning as well as an income while attending Murray State. WTT continues to provide employment opportunities for many graduates who are also veterans as well as those with post-traumatic stress disorder. Allen is a fourth-generation military family service person, which qualifies WTT as a veteran-owned business.

Allen gives to the University in many other ways, including but not limited to serving as an instructor for a finance class focused on using the latest technology as a research and forensics tool.

Allen states that Wisdom Tree works hand-in-hand with its customers, providing innovative solutions to difficult problems. Within the past few years, Wisdom Tree Technologies has obtained contracts with the U.S. Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, the Kentucky Army National Guard, the U.S. Air Force at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, the National Guard Bureau, Special Operations Command, Central Command, Bechtel Jacobs, Northrop Grumman and more.

Allen stated, “We are honored to be selected to participate. Our business will benefit in the form of rendering increased job opportunities for the veteran and minority demographics represented in our company.”

“We are so excited to hear that Wisdom Tree Technologies, its owner and founder Mr. Scott R. Allen and the staff at Wisdom Tree are being recognized for their success,” said Chris Wooldridge, Murray State University SBDC District Director for the Kentucky Small Business Development Center network.. “Wisdom Tree is an excellent example of a small business success reaching more than just profitability. It is a contributor to the local community, the region and the commonwealth, and we are proud of their hard work and success.
